Where your HR data lives — personal vs. employer workspace
If you have your own ItzSEO workspace AND work at an agency, this is why your punch lands in the right place automatically.
ItzSEO supports two kinds of workspace at the same time, and a single person can be inside both:
- Your personal workspace — created automatically when you signed up. You're the owner. Use it for your own side projects, free-tool runs, or test workspaces.
- Your employer’s workspace — the one you joined via an apply link or admin invite. You’re an employee here. Your manager scopes the projects, HR runs your attendance, and you punch in on this workspace’s clock.
The routing rule (you don’t have to think about this)
When you click Clock In on the HRMS hub, ItzSEO looks up your employer workspace and records the punch there — even if the breadcrumb at the top of the page shows your personal workspace. Same for standups, leave requests, and overtime entries. Your manager always sees the punch on the right dashboard.
The amber banner at the top of /hrms reminds you which workspace is recording your HR data. You don’t need to switch workspaces before punching in — just click the button.
What if I work at more than one agency?
If you’re a freelancer on two or more ItzSEO workspaces with HR, the Primary employer card on /hrms lets you pick which one your punches go to. Switching is one click and takes effect for your next punch.
What if I have no employer?
If you’re using ItzSEO only for your own personal workspace, the system falls back to that workspace for HR data. No banner, no picker, no surprise. Solo owners see exactly what they expect.
Common questions
I punched in but the breadcrumb says my personal workspace? That’s fine. The breadcrumb tracks which workspace your screen is currently scoped to (for projects, settings, etc.) but HR data is routed separately to your employer workspace. The amber banner spells this out.
My manager says they can’t see my punches? Most often this means an admin hasn’t added you to a department in the employer workspace yet — the department membership is the signal that says “this person is an employee here.” Ask your admin to assign you a department, and the next punch will route correctly.
I changed jobs. How do I switch? Once your new employer adds you to a department in their workspace, use the Primary employer picker on /hrms to switch — or just wait for an admin to remove you from the old workspace; ItzSEO will detect the change automatically.
