Enable push notifications

Turn on web push so ItzSEO can ping your device when something needs attention — mentions, task assignments, leave decisions, payslips, and more.

Mobile & PWAUpdated Try it now

Web push notifications let ItzSEO reach you on your phone even when the app is closed. The same events that trigger emails (mentions, task assignments, reminder day-of nudges, leave decisions, payslip released, etc.) also fire a push, so you can choose to skip the email and just rely on the push tap-through.

How to enable it

  1. Go to Settings → Email preferences.
  2. Find the “Web push on this device” card (between the email toggles and the reminder quiet-hours card).
  3. Tap Enable web push on this device.
  4. Your browser will ask for permission — tap Allow.

That's it. The card flips to a green “Web push is on for this device” confirmation. Next time a mention or task assignment fires, your phone will get a push.

What events trigger a push

  • @mentions in comments and messages
  • Task assignments — when someone assigns a task to you
  • Reminder day-of nudges and overdue alerts
  • Morning reminder digest (one summary per day)
  • Project messages — both directions (client ↔ agency)
  • Task deliverables — new attachments on client-visible tasks
  • Client requests — when a client submits a request via portal
  • Payslip released and amendments
  • Leave approved / rejected / overflow-to-LWP decisions
  • Overtime approved / rejected decisions
  • Reminder thread events — counter-proposed date, accepted, replies

Each push tap-through opens the relevant in-app surface: /me/payroll/[id] for payslips, /reminders/[id] for reminder events, /me/leave or /me/overtime for HR decisions, etc.

Per-event opt-outs

Push uses the same per-event toggles as email. If you turn off email for “task assignments”, you also stop getting pushes for them. Same applies for mentions, reminders, payslips, and so on. The toggles all live in the same Settings → Email preferences panel.

The Reminder quiet hours card below the push toggle silences reminder pushes (not just emails) during your chosen window — so you can set 10pm-7am and not get woken up by an overdue alert.

Browser compatibility

  • iPhone / iPad — requires iOS 16.4 or newer AND you must install ItzSEO via Add to Home Screen first. iOS Safari does not support push for regular websites.
  • Android Chrome / Edge / Samsung — fully supported.
  • Desktop Chrome / Edge / Firefox / Brave — fully supported. Same opt-in flow from /settings/notifications.
  • Desktop Safari (macOS) — supported on macOS 13 (Ventura) and newer.

Troubleshooting

The toggle shows “Notifications are blocked”. You previously denied permission. The card now lists per-browser steps inline (iOS Safari, Chrome / Edge, Firefox) and ships a Re-check permission button — follow the steps for your browser, then tap Re-check. On installed iOS PWAs the right path is iOS Settings → Notifications → ItzSEO (the installed app, not Safari).

I enabled push but nothing arrives. Trigger something that fires a notification (have someone @mention you, or assign yourself a task). The push uses the same per-event opt-out as email — if you have that event turned off, push is too. Also check that you don't have Focus / Do Not Disturb enabled.

I want push on multiple devices. Enable it separately on each device. Each browser-instance is its own subscription, so opt in once per phone / tablet / laptop.
