Removing or getting rid of an employee from your workspace
How to remove, kick, or get rid of an employee from your workspace — when to use Remove vs Mark as client.
To get rid of an employee or remove someone from your workspace entirely, use the Remove action. Remove from workspace deletes their workspace membership row and all department memberships in this workspace. They lose access to operator surfaces. Their User account is preserved; other workspaces are unaffected.
Project-level memberships are not cascaded — they stay so historical work doesn’t lose context. Remove them from each project’s Members tab if needed.
If the person should keep access but stop appearing in team and HR lists, use Mark as client instead. It flips their role to CLIENT, which is the recommended path for contractors who finished a project but might come back.
