Notifications, @mentions, and the bell badge
How chat pings reach you — bell badge, web push, email — and how to tune them in Settings.
When you receive a message in a conversation you're part of, ItzSEO can ping you through three channels — depending on your preferences:
- Bell badge — the Inbox tab in the bottom- nav (mobile) and the sidebar bell (desktop) show a combined unread count: notifications + unread chats. Tap the conversation to clear its share of the count.
- Web push — if you opted in under
/settings/notifications, you get a system notification on each new message (or each @mention, if you chose mention-only mode). - Email — fallback for senders who haven’t opened the chat recently. Configurable in
/settings/notificationsunder Chat messages and Chat mentions.
@mentions
Type @ followed by a teammate's name (or email's local-part) in the composer. The first matching member of the conversation is mentioned. Mentions override mute — if you have the chat muted but get @-mentioned, you’ll still get a push.
Mute + quiet hours
Each conversation has a mute action in its settings cog (mute for 1 hr / 8 hrs / 24 hrs / forever). Globally, set quiet hours under /settings/notifications — pushes during that range get held back (mentions still break through). Externals never count toward your push or email — they reach you only through the bell badge.
